Behind this table and the smiles (because I do always love seeing Melissa) is a deep conversation - one about resilience, hope and the urgent need for action.
We are: Melissa, the director the Mision Mexico Foundation
A dedicated doctor
A psychologist (Jenna - me!)

The challenge? A funding crisis. The recent international aid changes (stemming from USAID) have led to funding cuts and freezes. The critical work that Mision Mexico Foundation’s Health Centre provides has suddenly been frozen, leaving children, families, immigrants and the entire community without critical support for 90 days.
This isn’t just about money, it’s about access to care, education, and survival. At best, leading to a huge disruption to continuity of care for those with chronic health needs; at worst it will lead to a complete withdrawal of funding and closure of the centre on a permanent basis.
What happens when funding disappears/is frozen?
The Health Centre that was staffed by doctors, therapists and other health professionals was shut down from one day to the next
Medication that many people need is left sitting in a room behind a lock and key, with no permissions to distribute it
Those who can’t pay to access health services (i.e. the people the Health Centre provided services to) are now going without
We are not giving up - and we invite you to stand with us.
We need connections, sponsors and partners to keep this work alive. Can your network help? If so, please visit the Mision Mexico website or contact us here.
