Our 2025 Hola Therapy Recap...

2025 was an interesting year for us here at Hola Therapy. For the first time in 20 years, I (Jenna) stopped direct clinical work. It was an emotional and difficult decision. That change meant two things. 1) Much more clinical supervision to support the team and 2) more administration - like banking and bureaucracy (guácala!). The latter was necessary, but I didn't find it fulfilling in the same way that clinical work is. Rhianna and I have felt like we've dragged ourselves across the finish line this year, with too much admin for our admin team to handle, and too little of the joys of providing direct therapy. Yet from the rest of the team, we heard an overall positive review of the year. 2025 was characterised by meaningful therapeutic work, better internal and clinical processes, office improvements and a mountain of professional development opportunities.

Here are some of our team and clinical highlights of 2025:

  • We've grown our team by three. In a time of ChatGPT job applications, finding real connection with people is hard. But we're delighted to have found three more people that are a great fit for our collective.

    • Fery joined us to provide full-time business administrative support. You'll often catch her at the front desk in the afternoons.

    • Corina joined us a bilingual psychologist from Venezuela.

    • Yazmin has joined us as our first psychologist offering Spanish-only therapy.

With three new Latinas in our team this year, this reflects our shift away from being an English-only service to a truly bilingual psychology service.

  • We have collectively provided over 6337 therapy sessions this year.

  • We have launched Hola Assessments. ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, psychoeducational and mental health assessments for children and adults.

  • We invested heavily in our own internal processes and professional development, such as improved treatment planning and risk response protocols, more peer supervision, regular 1:1 skill sharing and collaboration consultations each month.

  • We undertook Gottman Couple's Therapy together as a team, had various guest speakers, and defined and documented individual learning goals for each therapist in their chosen areas of interest. This included everything from adoption through to couples therapy for non-traditional relationships.

What does this mean for Hola Therapy for 2026?

Clinically and office-wise, we feel pretty on track. But administratively, we recognised that in addition to our new full-time administrator, we also need a full-time Practice Manager. We also reflected that as a result of feeling so busy, we didn't put effort into social time together. In 2026, we'll be planning for a little more time to put our feet up together. The first cab off the rank -  watching a few of episodes of Couples Therapy together!
